Brighter skin in under a minute

There are two things that will guarantee better looking skin almost immedietely, exfoliation and vitamin c. I've rounded up a few of my favourite products which work in a minute or less. Perfect for those with busy lifestyles who don't want to compromise on high performance skincare.

First up, a bit about vitamin c, provided it's been kept stable in a formula and is still 'active' it does wonders when applied topically. It visibly brightens the skin, helps fade pigmentation, discolouration and scarring and is great for skin firmness and elasticity. Fantastic as and all round 'anti-aging' ingredient and a strong antioxidant although it can sometimes leave skin feeling a tad dry so it's always good to follow up with a slightly richer than your usual moisturiser.

The Ren 1 Minute Facial Flash Rinse and Nude Detox Fizzy Brightening Powder Wash both have extremely stable formulas, provided you keep the containers well away from water. Nude's offering is a completely dry powder which you mix with a few drops of water, turning it into a foam, you then massage it into the skin and rinse away. The slight granular texture gives the skin a gentle exfoliation which helps to further brighten the skin.

Ren's version is slightly different, it has a toothpaste like colour and consistancy which you massage into damp skin and leave on for a minute before rinsing away. This one doesn't exfoliate but packs a serious punch vitamin c wise, the results are very immediate so it's great as a pre (or post!) party product.

Sunday Riley Good Genes is one of my all time favourite products, you can see my full review of it here. It contains vitamin c along with lactic acid which exfoliates and hydrates, plus a long list of other great ingredients. It can be used regularly as a serum or as a mask for when your skin needs more of an intensive treatment.

Nude Detox Fizzy Brightening Wash is £38 from Space NK
Ren Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial is £32 from Feel Unique or $48 from Sephora
Sunday Riley Good Genes is £85 from Space NK or $105 from Sephora
